I really love what I do; being part of and capturing the biggest day in a couple’s life is both an honour and a privilege.

I’ve worked all over the world: in studios in New York, the ‘The News of the World’ and ‘The Sun’ newspapers, as an official photographer for the Duke of Edinburgh’s 70th Birthday at Windsor Castle, as a ship photographer onboard the QE2 and a Kodak wedding photographer. I’ve photographed many celebrities, from Nicole Scherzinger to Geri Halliwell: The Reverend Jesse Jackson to Ernie Wise.

I have four children ranging from 30 to 10 (I know!) and had very noisy Basset Hounds named Snoop and Flash, who inspired the name. I’ve worked as a Senior Graphic Designer in an advertising agency and have always been involved with the creative industries. I’m a MARVEL comic nerd, buying my first American import in 1976. It’s lovely at the moment, explaining all things superhero to the kids; finally, some respect!

How would I describe my style? Beautiful, simple and elegant wedding photography. Timeless, but with individuality and style. I’ll create stunning images for you full of character and elegance while capturing all those special little candid moments as they happen. Documentary photography with style.

EXPERIENCE

I started Howling Basset back in 2004 and have photographed over 1,300 weddings. This experience means I’m calm, professional and discreet, helping me best capture your wedding story. I'm a member of the Royal Photographic Society.

APPROACH

Friendly and relaxed, my approach to weddings is professional and unfussy; I’ll do everything I can to make you feel comfortable in front of the camera and avoid interfering too much on your special day. I pride myself on making you look stunning and providing you with beautiful photos and memories to treasure.

I am the taker of the photos…

I am the receiver of the groans, they eye-rolls and the hurry ups.

I am the one who disrupts the ‘moments’, to capture them.

And sometimes it’s hard to be that person.

But I am also the holder of the memories…

I am the one who keeps the precious proof.

I am the bearer of the stories, the maker of the photo books that bring tears, laughter and love rushing into the room each time they are opened.

The eye-rolls will be replaced one day with absolute all-consuming gratitude, for the image of a smiling face so missed and a memory returned home to stay.
