A stunning and new wedding venue for me of Eltham Palace for the wedding of Selina and Muhammed. Eltham Palace is almost a walk for me now, too, and although I’ve been there as a family for an Enchanted evening, I arrived extra early just to have a good look around before the wedding.
Selina and Muhammed were getting married late in the day at 3.30 and it would be dark after the ceremony for any outdoor wedding photos, so it was decided to do the couple shots before the wedding. It was starting to drizzle but with help from Annabelle, the wedding coordinator, we got some lovely shots around the stunning grounds.
The ceremony was in the stunning circular hall, with the chairs arranged in concentric circles and the ceremony in the centre. Lovely, after over 1,000 weddings, to come across something completely different. A very clever arrangement as all the guests can see, and I can prowl around the perimeter taking my photos and not block anyone or get myself in guests’ shots.
Lots of lovely interactions between the families, and after drinks and canopies, it was off to the great hall.
Wow, what a space, huge ceilings and flagstone floors. An incredible space for a wedding reception and certainly the tallest place I’ve ever shot in.
A beautiful and friendly winter wedding.
